The Markthal, which is the first covered market in the Netherlands, is a place where good food and unique housing are harmoniously combined in a spectacular arch. This iconic fresh market opened for business on 1 October 2014, after five years of construction. Arno Coenen and Iris Roskam designed a 11.000 sqm amazing artwork. Wander amongst the marketstalls and look up and be amazed by the artwork. The marketstalls offer a wide range of food products, food retail and tasting from all the cultures. The restaurants and rooftop terraces offer a nice seating with view while you enjoy your breakfast, lunch and dinner. Be inspired and educated about the history in the Tijdtrap which you can find on level -2 to level -4.
